Contracts

Crypto Valley Exchange Platform will list the following major cryptocurrencies and commodities for trading on CVEX Protocol, catering to diverse trading strategies and risk profiles. The platform is not responsible for the matching or access to the platform, just a provision of a data set.

Preliminary Specifications

The information provided in this section regarding available contracts, margin/risk parameters, and fees on Crypto Valley Exchange represents our current vision and preliminary specifications.

We reserve the right to modify these parameters up to the main net release. Any changes will be driven by our commitment to support the best interests of the protocol and its users. We strongly encourage readers to refer to our official communication channels for the latest updates and developments.

Our main goal in sizing the contracts is to provide edge to those that provide liquidity, the bid offer spread should enable traders to make a profit between a minimum spread on a market typical size, the contracts should be tuned to this and not copied from other providers.

Each underlying asset is represented by perpetual contracts and expirable futures. Futures contracts are launched monthly, with a three-month lifespan. This scheduling ensures the availability of three active expirable futures at any given time, corresponding to the current month, the following month, and the subsequent month.

We will add longer futures on a quarterly basis as the open interest increases.

The Final Settlement will be on the final Friday of the expiry month. Timing for each instrument will be published, we need to prevent the settlement process causing spikes in activity. It should be noted that there is a final settlement fee for any positions still open at the time of the settlement process, this is detailed in the Fees section. It is explicitly more than the transaction fee to incentivise the closing of positions before the final settlement time, this helps reduce the load on the system at settlement and reduces risk across the whole system.

Options Contracts

Options contracts on Crypto Valley Exchange are aligned with the futures schedule, featuring the same expiration periods. The platform offers a range of strike prices for these options, determined based on the anticipated volatility of the contract. This structured approach to options trading allows traders to engage in various strategies, leveraging the dynamic nature of both futures and options markets. Option strikes can be added at any time, but not removed.

Options contract tick size and notional will be published here before launch.
